Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

The Isle of Armor is a fortified island.

Learn about the Isle of Armor, the first component of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass, and how to use it to your advantage. The Isle of Armor will transport you to new locations while also introducing you to new Pokémon and other characters. You’ll travel to a massive island that contains a variety of landscapes that have never been seen before in Galar, such as wave-swept beaches, woods, bogs, tunnels, and sand dunes. The Isle of Armor is home to a slew of Pokémon, including the Legendary Pokémon Kubfu and Urshifu, who can be found in plenty. In addition, you’ll meet Mustard, a Pokémon Trainer who owns and operates a dojo that specialises in a variety of unique training methods. Providing you have reached the Wild Area in the main tale of Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, you will be able to begin exploring these new locations right away.

The Tundra of the Crown

The Crown Tundra is the second component of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass, and it is the most recent addition to the game. In the frigid region of the Crown Tundra, you’ll find jagged winter mountains and a small group of people living together in harmony. In this section, you will be appointed as the captain of an exploration team, and you will be tasked with exploring the entire depths of a Pokémon Den alongside your other Trainers in the Dynamax Adventures game. New Pokémon, such as Galarian Slowking, can be found in the Crown Tundra, and you may even come face to face with Legendary Pokémon from past games in the Pokémon series while exploring the region. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to compete in the Galarian Star Competition, an exciting Multi Battle tournament sponsored by Leon.

With the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass or the Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass, you’ll be able to unlock new regional versions of certain well-known Pokémon, as well as Gigantamax forms of Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon, among other things. In addition, there are new items, Max Raid Battles versus new Pokémon, and other features. Take a look at it right now!

GameFreak’s Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are the latest generation of Pokémon role-playing games for the Nintendo Switch system, and they are available now. Galar is the setting for the adventure, which is a vast region with a diverse range of settings, including charming farmland, modern cities, dense forests, and jagged, snow-covered mountains.

Residents of this region have lived side by side with their Pokémon, and they have worked together to build the various industries in the area. Pokémon battles are a popular form of entertainment in the Galar region, and the region’s Pokémon League stages an annual tournament to determine the region’s next Champion. You’ll have to compete against your opponents and take on Galar’s Gym Leaders if you want to be eligible to participate in this tournament as well.

Find out about new Pokémon.

The Galar area contains a plethora of exciting new Pokémon, including the first companion Pokémon Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, as well as a variety of other interesting new Pokémon. Aside from the lovable Sheep Pokémon Wooloo, you’ll also come across the intimidating-looking Corviknight, and the Ghost-type Pokémon Polteageist, which has a body composed entirely of Black Tea, among other creatures.

A number of Pokémon have adapted to the unique environment of a certain region and appear differently than the same species may appear when found in a different zone. In the Galar region, there are localised variants of Pokémon called Galarian forms, which are unique to the region. Galarian variants of familiar Pokémon like as Weezing and Zigzagoon should be on the lookout.

When comparing Pokémon Sword to Pokémon Shield, one of the most noticeable distinctions is the variety of Pokémon species available to you. Examples include Sirfetch’d, who can only be found in Pokémon Sword, and Galarian Ponyta, who can only be found in Pokémon Shield.

The Galar region is now home to a number of new Legendary Pokémon. However, despite the fact that Zacian and Zamazenta are depicted on the packaging of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, their identities remain a mystery. Perhaps you will be able to uncover their secrets.

Investigate the Wilderness Area

In the Galar region, there is a wide stretch of land known as the Wild Area, which contains a variety of wildlife. The Wild Area is a lush, green expanse of land that stretches as far as the eye can see, and it is home to a diverse collection of Pokémon.

During your exploration of this vast expanse, you will have complete control over the game’s camera. You’ll need to be on your watch because you’ll most likely come across some really powerful wild Pokémon in this area! If your Pokémon are not powerful enough to fight these formidable adversaries, be prepared to flee the battlefield.

According to where you are in the Wild Area and what time of day it is, the weather can change dramatically. In addition to sunshine and rain, you may also encounter more unusual weather patterns such as thunderstorms on your journey. There are different Pokémon based on the weather conditions!

The Wild Area is teeming with what are referred to as Pokémon Dens. It is possible to come across a Pokémon Den that is emitting a crimson pillar of light from its entrance. Various Dynamax Pokémon of various species and strengths are lurking in these dens, and by examining them you will be able to participate in a Max Raid Battle with one of them.

Face up against the powerful Pokémon Dynamax and Gigantamax.

It goes without saying that the Dynamax phenomenon, which permits Pokémon to become enormously powerful, is a crucial component of Pokémon battles in the Galar region of the game. Pokémon that evolve into Dynamax Pokémon not only grow in size, but they also gain in power. However, they will return to normal after three rounds, so be sure to plan ahead of time when you want to trigger the Dynamax effect!

Dynamaxing appears to be a phenomenon shared by all of the Pokémon from Galar, however the Pokémon from Galar can perform a specific type of Dynamaxing known as Gigantamaxing! Due to this extremely rare characteristic, the Gigantamax Pokémon grows in size and changes its appearance. Gigantamax Pokémon can also perform a G-Max Move, which is a one-of-a-kind and extremely strong attack.

When participating in Max Raid Battles, you’ll come across Dynamax Pokémon and (very rarely) Gigantamax Pokémon. You can team up with up to three other Trainers to take on a wild Dynamax Pokémon in these hard Max Raid Battles, which are designed to test your skills. If you are successful in defeating the wild Dynamax Pokémon that you are up against, you will each have a chance to capture it.

Activities in the Galar Region that are not listed above

Other delightful activities await you as you continue your adventure through the Galar area, activities that are not only entertaining, but also helpful to you and your Pokémon. For example, at most Pokémon Centers, you can check for open Poké Jobs at the Rotomi terminal, which is located at the entrance. You have the ability to dispatch Pokémon from your Pokémon Boxes immediately to any task you agree to take on. The Pokémon you send will get valuable work experience that will aid them in their development. Being away from home for an extended period of time or sending as many Pokémon as possible on a job can also yield positive benefits. It’s possible that you’ll obtain some unique goods.
